This course will help you to understand the risks associated with the manual handling of objects and discover techniques to avoid injury.

Entry requirements

This course is suitable for anyone involved in manual handling or lifting in a work environment.

Course content

The course will enable you to acquire basic grounding on how to move objects safely, and learn introductory techniques to ensure care is taken for the back.

During the course you will cover topics including:

  • Lifting procedures
  • Legal requirements
  • Health & Safety at Work Act
  • Care of the back
  • Acquire basic grounding on how to move people and objects safely
  • Learn introductory techniques to ensure care is taken for the back

Assessment methods

There is no formal assessment for this course. On successful completion you will receive a College certificate of attendance.
