Human Resources Support Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3

This apprenticeship forms the foundation of a career within the Human Resources (HR) profession. The focus of this apprenticeship is primarily on individuals who are new to the role or are progressing on their career journey through the organisation. Upon completion, you will be eligible for Associate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). The qualification is suitable for existing staff in a variety of entry level HR roles, including HR Administrator and HR Adviser, or new staff going into these roles. By undertaking this apprenticeship, you will have a good grounding across a range of HR disciplines as this is contained in the qualification included in this standard.

Entry requirements

Grade requirements: You must have GCSEs A*-C or 9-4, or equivalent.

Other requirements: You will need to be able to demonstrate and use good written and verbal communication skills as well as basic IT skills, particularly use of word processing and presentation packages. Apprentices without level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this prior to completion of their Apprenticeship.

Course content

The Certificate in HR Practice includes the following units:

  • Understanding Organisations
  • Recording, Analysing and Using HR Information
  • Resourcing Talent
  • Performance and Reward Management
  • Managing Employee Relations
  • Developing Yourself as an Effective HR Practitioner

Assessment methods

On-programme assessment – includes Level 3 CIPD qualification assessed via assignments and preparation of Consultative Project.

End Point Assessment (EPA) assessed via Consultative Project and Professional Discussion.

English and Maths Level 2 (if required) assessed via exams.

Qualifications

You will gain the following qualifications:

HR Practice Foundation CIPD Level 3 Certificate
HR Support Apprenticeship Level 3

Apprentices without Level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this prior to completion of their apprenticeship.

Further study and career options

Further study: On successful completion, you may wish to pursue a Level 7 qualification in HR Management.

Future careers: Future roles that may be open to you include HR Manager/Director, Operations Manager/Director.

Additional information

There is a mandatory CIPD joining fee of £40 and membership fee of approximately £100 annually. The purchase of core textbooks is recommended to support your studies (these are optional and discount is available for students from the CIPD).

Next steps

To be eligible for an apprenticeship you must either be employed on a full-time contract by an employer willing to support your training or have an offer of employment as an apprentice. Bedford College can help you find a job role with an employer if you don’t already have one.
